About StarYaar

Destiny, not just looks.

Every dating app in India asks the same thing first: how do you look. Every family asks something different: do the charts match. StarYaar is built on the second question.

How the reading works

You give your birth date, time and place once. From that we compute your Vedic birth chart using the Lahiri sidereal system, the same ayanamsa Indian astrologers use, and answer five questions about your future partner.

There is no AI writing your reading. Every answer is derived from a specific placement in your chart: your 7th house and Venus for love versus arranged, the 7th lord's sign for appearance, the ruling planet for temperament, your Darakaraka's nakshatra for the first letter of their name, and your Vimshottari dasha for timing. The same chart always produces the same answers, and the app shows you which placements produced each one.

How matching works

Matches are scored with Ashtakoota Guna Milan: the eight-fold compatibility system used in traditional kundali matching, out of 36 points. Nadi dosha and Bhakoot dosha are filtered out before a profile ever reaches you, and Manglik compatibility is checked on both sides.

You do not swipe. Introductions arrive on their own, chosen by the charts. You see a zodiac avatar, a first name and a compatibility score, enough to decide, without turning a person into a photo grid.

What we deliberately do not do

An honest note

Readings are for entertainment. Astrology is a tradition, not a science, and StarYaar is not a substitute for professional advice about your health, finances or relationships. What we can promise is that the calculations are real, consistent, and done the way a Vedic astrologer would do them.

Who we are

StarYaar is made by a small independent team in India. If you want to reach a human, write to developer@staryaar.co.in, one of us reads it.
